Can't duplicate shots within storyboard
The Glaze

My purpose for using the movie export would be to track characters and cameras through space but there is no option to duplicate shots so the environment is set from shot to shot. There is a duplicate option for the entire storyboard so this should be a valuable and easy fix. PLEASE ADD THIS OPTION!!!!! It also makes sense for repeating shots later in a sequence.

It’s okay, just okay

There’s a NEED for the option to duplicate shots! I’m not the first person to ask for it and we haven’t gotten it yet. It is obvious that the setup will need multiple shots and re organizing the shots like it was before for each is very tedious. Please add a Duplicate option!

Great app, ignore the haters

This app is great. It’s free and syncs with my scripts in Celtx(which is also free). Could it better, yes, but I sketch my boards and take pictures from my phone. It’s streamlined my preproduction process significantly. If you are a filmmaker working without a budget I would highly recommend this app.

Needs work but has promise

The basics of the app are there. You can create scenes, define shot types and combine clip art with down elements. The issues start when you try and duplicate a scene and can’t, forcing you to recreate the scene from scratch. Printing and export to PDF have issues as well. On export you can’t see all the text for some reason. I’d love to see more clip art and improvements to the app to make it a little more polished. I’d be happy to pay for it then.

Bamboozled.

Sorry for my rated PG-13 review from earlier. When I downloaded the app, there was no pricing. Just an In app purchase listing which sometimes means that I can purchase a upgrade after downloading the free app if I choose to. I did think it was weird that I had to confirm my credit card but I didn’t think anything of it because there was no price listed for the app (Just the GET button) which generally means it’s free. Five seconds later I’m charged $5.39 which I did not agree to. I still want my money back. I would never pay that much money for an personally untested app.

Celtx keeps impressing me.

Hand down the best storyboarding app I've seen so far. The interface is pleasant, the syncing with celtx accounts option is delightful, and $5 is very reasonably priced for this excellent tool. Storyboarding is now one more thing I can do on the go. Not to mention, having my storyboards in addition to my screenplays on the iPad makes production meetings that much more organized. Keep it up celtx.

Would like a drawing feature but love the camera & dolly tracks

It's just ok for me. I actually like the app Storyboard better because you have more control over your images than with Celtx. It has a great library but you are limited to one perspective with the objects. It would be great if this had a drawing feature so I can make quick sketches right in the app instead of having to bring drawings in. If you use Celtx for all your writing and storyboarding needs then this is perfect because you can use the app on your computer and bring your sketches with you on the ipad app. I think it's best used for have a bird eye view of the set you are shooting on and make camera diagrams with it. I think the cameras and dolly tracks that come with the app are perfect for that type of work so you can have your sketches up top and then have a view of the camera set ups.

This is great!

I use this all the time while on set and editing.

Not worth it yet.

For storyboarding purposes I would recommend the free storyboards app over this. I got this on sale and I still don't think it was worth the money. I can draw overheads by hand faster than I can with this.

confusing at best
archfotos

it would be nice, but at every corner there seems to be a cost for any features. Seems to be a major headache to sync with the free software. Actually I never could get it to sync with my account so I could use the images I shot on location. RULE 1 - don't trust an app for anything important - How many times do I need to remember this basic rule?!
