Points for being the only app of its kind, but needs improvement.
A fond user
I used to love Celtx because it allowed me to write scripts on the go. Now though, it crashes every few minutes and has become unusable. It even lost a few paragraphs of my newest script this week. This app has the potential to be great, but it needs a performance overhaul. Also the design is dated. Again, I used to love Celtx. And I still use it, but only grudgingly because it’s the only way I can find to write a script on mobile where the formatting is built into the word processor.
Love it, but needs an update

I used to love this app until it started crashing every time I try typing and told me it couldn’t connect to the server. I updated the software on my iPhone 7+ to ios 15 and that’s when the problem began. Later I had to restore my phone because of an unrelated issue (wipe all the memory) and the problem persisted. I could use the app but had to try reopening it like 5 times until it would stop crashing. Later I upgraded my iPhone 7+ to the 13 and was hoping it was a software issue specific to my device but the same thing happened on the 13. In addition, The layout isn’t designed to fit a phone without a time button because every time I try to make a note the “done” button is stuck behind the battery icon at the top right of my screen and I have to quit the app and reopen it, which triggers the whole crashing issue again. It says it’s unable to contact the server so my guess is that the crashing issue is related to the Celtx cloud and it’s really annoying. I absolutely loved this app when it worked and was super bummed when it stopped. I’m not hopeful that the problem will be resolved because the App Store said the last update was 4 years ago. I love this app, but it needs an update.
Professional grade, and free

What can I say? It’s a legit professional grade screenwriting software for free. Also, allows breakdowns, budgets, index cards, etc for free on a limited basis. Want unlimited? It’s still cheaper than pretty much any other comparable software. The cloud compatibility is huge too- remember the days of having to back everything up on floppy disks every 10 minutes? Maybe I’m getting old, but this alone is a great feature. I’m so grateful I found this
Not bad but kind of buggy

Overall a great app. What I truly love about this app is how all of the work from computer saves to the app as well. So I don’t have to write up everything again on the app. Only issue I have is the app will kick me out a lot.

This app is good in theory being able to move around and jump from action line to character to dialogue etc. The problem is is that I can barely interact with the app without it crashing. I’ll go through several crashes just to finish a page of writing. The cursor constantly is jumping back to the start while typing mid sentence, which can also make it crash
