It's a mixed bag
Spyder Z

On the one hand, it's got the fun Castlevania feeling. On the other hand, it was clearly a gacha, and not enough was done to change it over to an entirely free solo experience. The amount of grinding required to fully complete the game is way out of scale with the amount of available content. In a gacha this is to keep you coming back or to annoy you enough that you can buy your way past it. Here, because you Can't "buy" your way past the annoyance, you're just left to deal with it. Current example. There's a Halloween event running at the moment. It's a repetitive trek up a "tower" of levels that recycle the same three levels (And one boss fight every 10 stages) at an increasing difficulty. Not a problem by itself. The "Event Shop" (Limited Time, though there no indication of How limited, nor what content will disappear from the Gold Shop at this unknown time) has about 1.5 Million Points of event currency to buy all the things a player would expect to be able to acquire in a single player experience. Now each level takes 2-3 minutes to complete. After about 20ish stages (Average 3 minutes per stage including loading) that's an hour and change of time. In this time, assuming you do ideally, you'll have earned 55-65K currency. So this is set up for you to need to spend At Least 22.5 Hours of playtime (Running the same three levels mind you) Just to complete this single event. And this needs to be squeezed into a short time span because It's "Limited". Don't forget that all this is the Best Case for the average player and assumes you've already played through most of the rest of the game and you have a full well leveled team. If you're newer, it gets exponentially worse. For a Gacha, this is standard fare. For a game that's supposed to have been converted to a single player experience, this is obscene.

Great game, but too many bugs right now

Save game syncing across devices doesn't always work requiring deleting and reinstalling the app to fix. Game controller support on macOS seems to be broken. The control stick on an Xbox One game controller works, but the buttons are not mapped. The controller button mapping options screen doesn't work at all. Cut scenes don't work on the Apple TV.

Love this game!

Overall a great Castlevania experience. Lots of grinding to collect items (parchments etc) but that’s true to Castlevania fashion. My only problem is with the Elgos coins. There’s a lot of weapons and armor for sale that can only be obtained via Elgos coins and there’s no way to earn them other than daily logins and daily missions. I wish they would allow us to buy them via coins or parchments.

Fun to play, some F2P elements left
Bholstege

For context, I'm playing this largely with mouse and keyboard. Fun game for fans of the series; however there are some limitations that can be frustrating. 1) Input responsivness with a controller/keyboard is poor, with less control over movement than you might expect. 2) Some F2P mechanics stuck in the game. For example, the limited number of trials playable per day doesn't make much sense. 3) Wide array of currencies should be simplified.

Actually very addicting

withdraw my previous comments, this game is addictive, all are great except for gacha, this is just personal as i dont like gacha in any form. but you can get the weaps by fragments, which takes long time but no where near unobtainable. GLHF.

Very good game

Been playing this game a few days now. When I first started the game definitely seemed like it was designed as a gotcha mobile game. I was surprised to learn it was and on Android. Being here now fully accessible makes this game a real gem. I started with screen controls and they were good, however, it really plays well with a game pad. I really like that I can play for hours or just a few minutes on the go on my phone. Also you now have to work at it and grind up your characters. Can’t throw money at it. It graphically beautiful and the music is pleasing. If you are a fan of Castlevania, as I am, grab this you won’t be disappointed

Great game but…
Cpl.Hicks27

Just wanted to input my two cents and say that being a long time Castlevania fan that this game is wonderfully done. The only thing I would have liked to have seen is some sort of zoom in feature as of course I got to wear glasses and would like to see it as one of those classic games in scale of what was shown on the screen. Other than that a wonderful game, only one issue I have is that my save data was rolled back I was on the third book and about half way through and lost all my progress. Is there anyway to get this back? Thanks.

Looking forward to chapter 5

not a game
Sal so Sad

What a piece of crap. This game basically is your typical lure that gets you hooked into repeating repetitive motions for coins & gem. If i wanted to be a monkey i’d move to the jungle. This isn’t a game. It’s an exercise in becoming an addict.

Fun
