Apple Music Kills usefulness

wksPunk

If you use Apple Music, it won’t work on this app. Unless you want to upload song to iCloud, this won’t work.

Indispensable practice tool.

I love the program! If been playing for many years and can learn any tune utilizing capo.

Decent BUT.

Why should I buy the songs off iTunes if I already pay for Apple Music and have them downloaded

Misses too much to be usefull

I’ve tried three songs with this app and there are significant errors this app makes that riffstation didn’t. The mistakes are significant enough that I can’t count on this app. Showed this to two music instructors who pointed out even more errors. I want riffstation back.

Nice work. Read the user guides though.

As for the app itself: a remarkable piece of work, once you get used to its nuances & figure out how this fits with any learning or transcription. The MacOS desktop version to this point, appears to be slightly more capable than the iOS version. I parked my use of it for quite some time. Going back to it, am astounded at its features anew. It does much of what an on & off again amateur musician needs in effectively learning songs without resorting to canned guitar tabs & as such, can help in combining mutiple source instruments into single-guitar playable renditions. It might serve professionals in similar fashion. I gather Capo has gone to the subscription model. I pre-date that, happily. Therefore I don’t know the cost after such point, but this is one of the pivotal keepers. I’m not thrilled that the subscription model may be the future of software. This means reassessing what software one uses a lot & which can be triaged away on an annual basis. There has to be a better way to cull chaff.

Needs work.

The app works fine, however it would be nice to have lyrics with the chords, and it really REALLY needs to be integrated with Apple Music.

UI mars an otherwise good product

Skyler A

For what it is, this app is great, but the UI really makes it hard to use. 1) the region loop/play controls are horrible. Even after reading the guide I have no clue when I'm going to pause/play the whole song or a loop after changing regions. I just use the play button on headphones or a Bluetooth speaker now cuz that's actually consistent. 2) This needs either over lapping regions or multiple projects for the same song so I can break down a solo into parts to learn and then loop the whole solo without having to kill the mini regions I worked so hard to create in this UI. 3) The tempo control barely works. If you drag if far left, it will never drag back because the ui keeps thinking you're trying to swipe the whole control. Only way I can fix it is by mashing the thick bar for 100% tempo and even that takes about 20 presses before it registers. When the UI isn't getting in the way, this app great, but unfortunately the UI is in the way about 80% of the time.

Nice try but falls short

DrBozman

Interesting idea but just doesn't get the job done. The app try's to determine cords by listening to a recording so often the guitar cords it identifies are not correct. For $10 I'd expect much more.

Powerful Tool!

Hollowbody87

This app is a great tool and time saver if you need to learn a large number of songs or prepare for a session. It may not give you all the fills, licks or arpeggios between the chords but it gives you what you need to let your ear fill in the rest. The advanced features add more power than you might expect and once you use them it becomes clear how handy and powerful this app is. My biggest add would be Nashville numbering and if possible with publishing rights a way to print. Bravo!

Transposition feature saved my bacon

Random bassist

Found out that a handful of songs the band was doing were in a different key than the recorded version. Very easy to transpose to new key by moving up or down several half or whole steps. Thanks!
