Really hoped for the best...

XYX123ABCIII

The main reason I signed up for the monthly service was for the reminders. Sadly, I wasn’t notified. Another issue is there’s no way to list an event/habit/to-do two or three times a week unless you enter each day as a weekly thing. I did all of that and the reminder failed. ? I’m deleting the app, canceling the monthly service. That was $5 (ish) wasted along with my time.

Gender Binary

Jay d'Fox

Made me choose Male or Female right at the start—I’d rather just skip if those are gonna be the choices, but ofc that’s not an option. Bit of a turn-off right from the start but I’ll see if anything’s worth upping the rating going forward. Really hope that’s changed eventually though.

Great idea, but buggy & without updates

EI Joe

Update: upon reaching level 60, the weekly and monthly goals no longer reset in any predictable way, and there’s no way to trigger a reset manually. There haven’t been updates in over a year. Looks and feels like a good idea that got abandoned before it could turn into something great. ...... First review: 5 stars because what you get FOR FREE without ads is outstanding! A solid task tracker with simple gamification. I haven’t encountered a single bug in over a month of frequent daily use. It’s changed my workflow for the better and I love the monster names and animations. However, $5 per month for Elite is too much without a major update. I think it’s impacting the growth and popularity of this otherwise great app. You get some minor utility functions at the Elite level, but no change to the gamification/content. A few possible ways to address this: * drop down elite level to something more standard for this level of content/utility, $1.99 or $2.99/month, tops. New users will be reluctant to pay more than that for something that hasn’t been updated for a year... * put up banner ads that disappear with Elite level. We want the dev to keep improving the app, so we either pay a little, or we see some ads. * Long term, put Elite gamification function behind the paywall (on top of the productivity functions): character creation, gear that changes your appearance, better rewards, quests? etc. That’ll make the membership even more enticing. Good luck, Harrison, and thank you for making Bounty Tasker! Drop down the Elite price and I vow to sign up for a year to help keep you going. I bet I won’t be the only one :)

Nothing that Habitica doesn't have

The 3.9375th Guy

I've been using this for the past month thinking it was Habitica, and thought I was losing my mind because I remember Habitica having a lot of features and this having really nothing that gives it any purpose. Sometimes you level up, sometimes a monster will appear that will sit there doing nothing until it dies and doesn't alter the game in any way, and very rarely the game will give you another of the same piece of equipment that you already have five of. (At level 12 I have four of basically just wooden clubs, yet half of my equipment slots are empty). I was being particularly careless when I downloaded it and thought nothing of it until I realized just how devoid of content the app was. But just in case it's not just me: If you're looking for that To-do list rpg you can't quite remember the name of, it's Habitica, not this one.

Beautifully simple

Atarddd

I truly enjoy the simplicity behind the app, which (unfortunately) appears to be the chief complaint from others. This has a simple, sleek UI that, if you’re like me, can be a breath of fresh air compared to rival “habit” apps—which feel cluttered. My only real complaint is the lack of updates. Some new features would be nice. Additionally, some quality of life improvements on some not-so-perfect user interface issues. If the devs come back from their 2 year hiatus, I will absolutely remain subscribed for the foreseeable future!

Hmmm

Ngilman18

I’m a little upset/disappointed that I have to pay for the remind feature , but besides that I really do enjoy this app a lot and give it 5 stars if I could just have that one feature

Use free version and avoid elite

TuneGuru3278

Avoid purchasing elite membership because the application will constantly forget that you are an active member. Several times I had to go into settings and restore purchases to get access to elite settings. Within 5-10 minutes even after using advanced setting the application would forget that I had an elite membership.

The app “SuperBetter” is way better

Zazz Blammymatazz

SuperBetter doesn’t try to force you into a recurring and possibly permanent subscription payment plan, that I personally would probably forget that I signed up for, then end up slowly paying out hundreds of dollars over a couple years, but this app does do that. A subscription to an app that is fundamentally so simple is fundamentally so stupid. To the developers, can you either charge me once or just go work for EA where you can crank out the same low effort crap and just leave the rest to marketing. I think the app is good. But I also think that whoever made the decision to go with only subscription options is a mindless idiot who thinks people won’t notice their “brilliant” plan for endless profit. How about you just get rid of the free version completely and charge a single flat high price to use at all. I would seriously buy that. I do buy apps like that if it looks good enough. But this is literally a hole in my pocket that I will definitely forget about if I did sign up. Just no. I’ll be using SuperBetter until someone else can pull their head out of their ask, and change their ask to a better ask, a one time non subscription ask.
