Great App

GeoffLau

This is a terrific alternative to apple's awful iBooks and getting better all the time. I strongly recommend it. Definitely read the FAQ s re how to put books in the library via iTunes shared folders. It's quick and easy. It works.

Don't waste your time or money

Fourth Stooge

I grabbed this for a road trip and put a couple of books on my phone before leaving - each 600 meg mp3's. Two and a half hours in to my trip and book, I stop for lunch at a drive through window and hit pause when I turned on the phone just like I do with Pandora. I have since learned that this kills the tracking. Ugh. My other book is now seen as only chapter 2 at just over 4 minutes so it's a total waste. No big deal, I'll just fast forward to where I was. Nope, it now sees my book as a 4 minute chapter and that's it. Nothing to be done. Also, no way to scroll through the book to find the spot I was at IF it still recognized this as a 15 hour book but you can step forward in 30 second increments. Not even an option. Bad design, especially considering they know there is a problem with tracking. For an app this mature, these problems should be worked out. Oh, and according to the developer's page, leaving a poor review means they will not respond to support requests so F-you developer! I won't get help but I'll save others the frustration of missing out on their book on their trip like me. I'm writing this review from a Cracker Barrel parking lot where I'm renting an audio book. $3.99 wasted.

Does not deliver

Don't waste your money. Does not see audio books as a book

Nice, but Quirky

jdcantara

Update: Stopped using for a while and decided to check back in. Resuming playback in the wrong location seems much better, but it still randomly starts playing. What a bizarre and embarrassing bug. Plays audiobooks well enough but has some incredibly irritating quirks. Sometimes after being paused for a while it resumes playback minutes or even hours earlier. I've taken to only resuming playback from the history tab which always knows the furthest position. Even more strange is that playback will resume without warning when you aren't even touching the phone. Very awkward when your audiobook begins blaring out during a meeting or conversation and you have to rush to pause it again while apologizing for the distraction.

By far the best!!!

G Man 21

This is by far the best audiobook app out there. I've tried many others and this app has all the features, you can even load MP3s from cloud servers - Dropbox.

Good app

Does the job

PLEASE ALLOW SORT BY DATE ADDED!!

Stuccato

Great app, but I keep all my audiobooks from iTunes on it, and sometimes I need to see the most recent additions. The googy icons on the left panel don't really tell you which book it is very well, so it's hard to find the last 5 books you uploaded. Usually you want to read one of those. Need sort by date added please!!!!!

Excellent - My Most Used App

californiacoast

Best audiobook/podcast player I've found. Lots of functionality. It's loaded with features, one of which I find particularly useful: the ability to load and play audiobooks consisting of multiple files within a single ZIP archive file. Also, I like being able to upload my audiobooks to the app using a web browser instead of Itunes. This app just keeps getting better and better. Definitely recommended.

Like the app, but would love some fixes

De.reezy

It's a great straightforward audiobook app but the layout is bizarre and the play/pause button is really unresponsive and wonky when you first start the app. I have to push play half a dozen times before it responds then it pauses again because I'm still tapping it to make it work

Over all a decent app

CatAntics

Decent app. I listen to a lot of audiobooks. It does have a few quirks. Current version likes to jump back to where you started to listen when you pause and switch to another app (rather than where you paused) but it is still better than trying to listen to audiobooks through apple ibooks. Simple, straight forward and easy to use.
