It’s amazing because I know it updated but it still makes the same mistakes. Not telling me the next available time (as opposed to the one half an hour out say) for the main IC routes is pretty ridiculous, and it’s a hassle on the week nights and Saturday’s. On Saturday it doesn’t even show predictions past 1:30. So weird. I’ll stick to the paper schedules.

The app has a chronic problem of showing blank lists. This has been a problem for a very long time and is yet to be resolved.

This app is truly awful. The arrival times are rarely accurate, and they fail to account for service intervals. Considering the importance of public transit in this area, you would think the app would be better. We don’t deserve it, but what choice do we have?
Works sometimes, crashes sometimes

Bongo sometimes crashes right when you open it, which is really annoying if you know your bus is coming soon. Sometimes it tells you that there are no buses running when there are, and it’s overall just a glitchy app.
I wouldn't have this app if I didn't need it

So I get to a bus stop. Check bongo. Says bus is 6 minutes away. Ok cool. Check my phone again 5 minutes later, the bus is no longer on the list of busses. I end up being late to work. This app is terrible. It'll make up fake busses, have old busses still listed, says a bus won't be running when it is, and will wipe a bus stop of all buses. Honestly, just use google maps.

You would think creating an app with such a simple concept would be easy, somehow this app manages to lower the bar year after year. It's so bad that a few years ago an undergrad created one far superior alternative called bongo+ on Android. Unfortunately it's no longer maintained. The biggest slap in the face is this app is developed by the U of Iowa. Tax dollars at work...
Use Paper Schedule, Not This App

Don’t use this app to determine bus location or arrival time because it is rarely correct. Best advice, get a paper schedule.

Honestly, it’s easier to look up the bus times online and go from there. Seriously! How does a bus go from arriving in 10 minutes to 2 minutes in the blink of an eye? Delete from the App Store.
