This app requires the Bond Bridge (BD-1000) in order to control appliances with remote controls. Bond can control appliances with RF based remote controls such as ceiling fans. Bond works with your Amazon Alexa and Google Home.
I purchased the Bond device to allow us to use our existing Hampton wireless fan remote with Alexa. It is solid and reliable but we find that we have to repeat commands a lot. Also it only has limited functionality as far as dimming etc. not working.
The app makes it very simple to set up the fans. It controls our fans with no problem. The Bond is in the same room with one of the fans and the other fan is 2 rooms away in an old house with lath and plaster walls. Was not expecting it to reach the 2nd fan. We also have a remote controlled tower fan in the room where the Bond is that has an IR remote and managed to pair it as well. Have been able to integrate the fans to work with Wink via IFTTT so they trigger with Wink temperature sensors and can voice control with Alexa.
The application detected the controls for my fans reasonably well. And the integration with Alexa worked well. The four stars is due to limited support for products. They claim to work with fireplaces and portable A/C - but I haven't seen any updates in the past 4 months.
The Bond works amazingly well even from a long distance. I have the controller in the garage and it can control my fan in the upstairs rooms on the other side of the house. Works great with Alexa except it does not give you the ability to dim the light through Alexa.
Products works - and works well supporting 6 fans on two floors. I’m not easily impressed - I’m impressed. Needs HomeKit Tie-In (in progress I hear) Needs Thermostat Tie-In Occupancy Sensor/Geo Fencing All On/All Off and grouping - events (day, night, bed, summer, winter (reverse fans).
Very handy using voice commands! As an improvement, I wish I could use voice commands to control the dimmer on the light by calling out percentages
Everything seems to work but I would like a dimming command for Google home and Amazon Alexa. I should be able to say “hey Google, dim lights to 50%”. Please add this feature.
I’ve had mine nearly a year and they haven’t added any of the new devices that were promised. Everytime I contact them it’s “coming soon”.
