I don't understand how someone just takes pictures from the billiongraves website without the consent of the family members???? I found pictures of my relatives on there without any knowledge of it....but then they copyright the photo at that....that's a violation.....who's responsible for this....

No good deed goes unpunished. Spent half a day driving to and from a rural cemetery, looking for graves, and taking photos. This was for a request that came via the Billion Graves community. I thought it would be a good way to try out the app. App worked great on site, but I prefer to use wifi rather than deplete my data allowance on my phone. I took 71 photos. ***They will not upload.*** I'm on wifi with a DSL connection. iPhone 5s, all systems updated to most current. There is no option to upload photos individually, which I would be willing to do just to get them to the person who made the request. I don't want to delete them because I'm sure as heck not making that 45 minute drive (one way) to take them again. So now there are two disappointed people, the one who made the original request, and the one who tried to do a good deed, only to find she wasted her time. This should not be that hard.

Love this app! This has simplified the process of getting head stones digitized into records.

Taking pictures could not be easier and more convenient with this app. Linking photos to capture all the information on the headstone for genealogical research using the chain icon is great. Uploading the photos using Wi-Fi was a breeze and saved using my phones data plan. The search function to guide you to a grave worked flawlessly. The Information this app provides for the website to show family relationships is incredible.
Good idea, crashes a lot

When I go to Dashboard and select a cemetery I've visited the app crashes. When I've taken a picture and hit okay to it being added to my pending uploads the app crashes (thankfully saving the picture first though). This needs work to make it more stable.

Clicking on past cemeteries/photos I've taken causes immediate crash. Also took multiple tries to get it to upload all my photos. Would crash before finishing. Love the easy app and the concept but it's very buggy
Must have for preserving history

I have been doing this the hard way for years with a handheld GPS and camera. We are all relying on carved stones to identify the final location resting place of our ancestors. Face it, things happen and grave sites become lost to the ages. However GPS coordinates never change, therefore if you use this app correctly you will be doing a great service to yourself and generations to come. This is exactly what I would have created had I known how to make an app.
