Misses the mark

(Summary: For English readers, OliveTree functions well in the common Masoretic texts, but contains little of original Vorlage OT&NT English translations, which are available elsewhere.) It slices it dices. But does it have the origin texts? In English? (Brenton) They exist even in free programs. So why not here. I’ve spent a lot of $ and time here, believing I was the ignorant one, and seeking clear English version of the original scriptures. After all, as a program OliveTree functions well. But, now having learned the hard way, buying and buying and buying from them, I now realize they do not have the greatest of scripture, together. (NETS is a westernized interpretation/translation, and is not true to the original message) How can that be you say, having hundreds of bible versions? Because none are original, not even KJV. They are all Masoratic text. The original OT, the LXX exists in English as well as interlinear (Brenton). The NT also has original Greek-English with an interlinear. But try to find English versions of either in OliveTree. There is only one. A money maker called NETS. Not a good translation in my opinion. So while OliveTree serves well in the masoretic versions it is very limited for advanced study if you only read English. UPDATE 11/25/19: OliveTree sent me a long list of 5star reviews, perhaps to show me how wrong I am, and suggested I should ask support for the texts I desire. I have already asked them twice over the last couple years. Whatever, my feedback is not re the app ; its about true texts not available thru OliveTree.

This is an outstanding Bible app. Well worth the price. I note a lot more passages with this application. Wonderful variety of resources available. This is probably the best Bible app that I use. Simple, lots of other resources if you choose to purchase them. I highly recommend.

So much more than a bible app

You can get commentaries, great variety of versions, and so much more. You can also customize highlights, add tags, and notes. Never had a problem with bugs and you can create an account so all your notes are on all your devices. Love it.

This is my second review on this app. 5 stars each time. For a mostly free service, you get so so much. So many tools are available in this app that are completely free of charge. I thank the Lord for making this service available to me to get deeper in the WORD!!

Easiest and quickest bible program I have found

Expensive extras is the only negative. Following a sermon and self study are a breeze and fairly intuitive. Happy Camper hiding the truth in my heart for God to use ? Update 11-4-16 I still love this app but the developer needs to work more on the mac part of the program as it is still buggy. Just keeps getting better all the time. I am at the end of week 7 & just enjoying myself and God.
