Great Concept But Too Hard To Use

Froggy518

We love the idea of this app but it's too hard to use with kids - especially for being made for kid's bibles. It would be fantastic if once you scanned the picture, it would continue reading the story even if the page went out of view. We have yet to be able to read a story without it restarting on us. We get the picture scanned, and inevitably one of the kids wiggles the phone or the bible and then it restarts the story. Usually we are too frustrated at the gajillion restarts that we don't finish the story. Also, it has a hard time scanning the older kids bibles (the ones with thin pages). We usually have to go get the children's one with thicker pages to be able to get it to work. Great concept, just too hard to use :/

This is so cool!

App did not work in Oct when I first bought the Bible, but decided to give it another go.... It was fantastic! We couldn't put it down! Did it using the icon mode...not sure what the other scan was for yet.

It was great...when it worked

I downloaded this app about a month ago after purchasing the big picture interactive bible and storybook. At first my son loved using this app to watch the videos attached to the QR codes. Now no matter which story I scan with the QR code, it will only link me to the creation video. Very disappointed that the video part of the app no longer seems to be working.

Must have been improved

I read the other reviews but we haven't had any issues. My son is 6 and as long as he keeps the phone pointed in the general direction of the bible, it reads the narration a and he can flip pages to move to the next story. The narration is really just a 3D image of the page, but it's cool enough for him. It gives him the option to read alone when I can't sit with him. He's so excited, he's starting from the beginning and planning to make it through the whole bible this summer!

Won't scan. PLEASE fix!

Bought this book and was so excited to use it with my son. Tried scanning it for at least 15 mins. and it would not work. :(

Bible pictures out of order - pictures need a lot of overhead light

My son's face lit up when he saw the pictures come to life. He's more interested than ever in hearing Bible stories. However, I was very disappointed the app and the Bible were out of sync at times. Also THE PICTURES NEED A TON OF LIGHT TO COME TO LIFE. Wish there was a way to give the app permission to use my phone flashlight. It would make this app more functional. I have the usual gripe as others, that you need to keep your phone fixed on the picture.

Great way to bring the Bible to Life!

Love the technology. The app works great with my phone. Can't wait to try it with an iPad. The Bible is excellent connecting Christ to the OT and the wonderful "Big Question" section.

If the app won't work...

Don't point your camera at the image on the corner of the page (like a QR code). Your camera needs the entire page in the screen for the app to work. Took too long to figure that out, but there ya go. Hope it helps others. My kids like the pop-up pictures, although the novelty of it quickly wore off. Fortunately there are many other great features in this bible to hold their attention.

Awesome!

Turns the Bible into a digital pop-up book! What a great way to keep kids interested and engaged.

Horrible

I can't even download the app! It gets almost done and have to restart it.
