The interface is simple and intuitive. Simply run BeatPacer and select any Playlist created from the Apple Music app and hit the play button. Beats-per-minute (BPM) are automatically calculated and can be adjusted up or down to match the steps-per-minute (cadence) at which you want to move.
If supported on your iPhone (iPhone 6 and above), the app can detect your current stepping cadence and automatically adjust song tempo to match the speed you are moving (when the footprint icon is selected). In order for this feature to be available BeatPacer must be granted access to sensor data in Settings > Privacy > Motion & Fitness.
Note that no WiFi or cellular connection is used. BeatPacer works only with songs that are downloaded to your phone and configured in a Playlist from the Music app. No DRM-protected content will be processed by this application. Access to your music is granted under Setting > Privacy > Media Library.
