Garbage

Dragonglass

If you like playing a game that you cannot advance past the first battle, this is for you. It is terrible!

No

Hedge Fund And Such

Finally got around to playing it. Great graphics. Terribly conceived gameplay. Movement is key in tactics games. This breaks up the board and limits units by their placement on the board. This obliterates any strategy you come up with and rather than making it challenging, it makes the game annoying because you can't actually execute complex strategies. Get XCOM instead. That's a strategy game done well.

Difficult, but polished

FineRedMist

Nice game, but quite high difficulty on some of the scenarios. And what I wouldn't give for some of the opponent's lore cards!

Needs more variety

methegrate

I'm a huge, huge fan of iphone strategy games, and this one has polish, good AI and some very clever design decisions going for it. It really lacks variety though. There aren't many units to choose from, and fewer that you'll really want. It gives you powers in the form of cards to play, but pretty soon you realize you're just seeing the same handful over and over. Overall the sense of the game is repetition. Expanded content and adding some interesting units and abilities could have made this a five-star imho.

Turn-based Strategy at its finest

ffcourtney

This works off the same system as Memoir 44. Great transition from board to mobile!! Absolutely loving it. Agree with previous that it's missing an undo button.

Dice rolling is broken!

Newtsdad

I play the actual board game and the dice results are actually pretty balanced. In the app version of the game the dice rolling is just plain broken. It's really no fun to play because you miss 75 percent of the time. The AI only misses about 10 percent of the time. It's really frustrating and not fun.

DIE AI!!!

Apollolore

I like the gameplay quite a bit, but the AI is very overwhelmingly strong. I also agree with some of the other players. 4 stages of play seem useless and the 'pushing' is unique and useful at time, but it drastically can hinder a particular units play. Also the 'lanes' are unique, but very limiting and also frustrating when I cannot use the one I need. Especially when the enemy practally knows the perfect action every time. Lastly a difficulty level would be nice. Want to play, but I will wake my kid with how angry I get!!!!!

FF, C-

Hobbsie76

Not fun. Sorry, but even as an avid strategy gamer I can't find the patience to even get through the first mission. As stated in other reviews, AI is rediculously overpowered. And, unless it's part if the storyline, please don't reduce my forces by 50% before I even get to go. Boooooo!

Very cool!

Fledge31

Really enjoying the game and graphics, despite having never played the board game. Please update the app so that we can save mid-game!

Good boardgame, so-so iPad game

Yornzepwor

I’m a big fan of Battledore as a boardgame, but not sure it translates well on the iPad. Tedious animations make gameplay feel sluggish, and as mentioned in many other reviews the lack of an undo for inadvertent lore selections is infuriating. I think it’s an especially bad fit for the iPad mini, where small screen size makes it look junky and hard to see when you zoom out to try to take in the whole battlefield.
