Update

Justin4452

Was great then all of a sudden you have to pay to see the future forecast lost me on that one other apps offer that and more for less. Wouldn’t be so bad if I wasn’t a long time user

Best fishing app out there

BassMaster ;)

I considered myself a good fisherman before this, now l’m expert. If I could give this app more than five stars I would. It gives the top five baits for the day, and lt tells me if I should work them slow, medium, or fast It tells me what parts of the pond/lake l should fish. And a lot more. Download it. To sum it up it’s amazing!!!!

Recent update lost me

App was pretty good before the most recent update. It would give a 10 day forecast on when is the best time to fish. However, now you have to pay for a subscription to see the 10 day forecast. If you don’t have the subscription you can only see the forecast same day and not the 9 other days. While I do understand there is a free trial, it is upsetting to see a paywall for essentially the main feature of this app. Ultimately, this app has turned obsolete after the update. I no longer recommend this product to anyone.

The weather isn’t up to NWS forecast quality.

I plan around this when I have time to kill and have no set schedule. However, the weather condition forecast trails well behind updates provided by the NWS. The app says favorable sky conditions but the NWS point forecast has clear with little wind. According to the NWS that spells a glass top and lots of sun with the accompanying heat. The app will say the opposite, touring overcast skies and nice 10mph winds. So far, the app has been 0 for 4 on the weather end. If the algorithm is going to use weather as a determining factor, I believe it should be updated as often as the official NWS forecast or at least draw data from multiple weather resources. Other than that, decent app combining the solunar tables, seasons and likely spots to snag them. Thanks.

The app is decent, but…

The app does provide _SOME_ correct weather conditions, but definitely needs to use a more accurate API. I’ve also noticed the “cover” option is not accurate at all. Also, making people pay for “unlocked” access to features isn’t worth it at all. It’s an ok app for those that are beginning anglers. If used on an iPad, the app does not provide an option to flip it on the devices side. Which is fine for a smartphone, but not a tablet. The people doing the dev work on this app should think about adding support for tablets.

Awful

WORST APP, AWFUL. M

With the new update this app is absolutely awful, you have to pay for everything even though the app is free. It doesn’t really work either way, DO NOT BUY, I REPEAT DO NOT BUY.

Good for knowing when to fish

zachdaquack

Sometimes a little inaccurate, but usually good. It tells you how fast your retrieve should be and when the best times to fish! It is a very good app and I think every fisherman should have it.

Not very accurate

twoavsfans

When I first tried the app I thought it did a pretty good job forecasting good and bad days and different baits to try. Since the summer season began accuracy has been lacking. The app will rate a day as a good day and there will be no one catching fish in my area. I’m retired and fish with 5 or 6 other retired people on a regular basis. When none of us even gets a bite when the app forecasts a good day something is off. Between all of us we try all the recommended baits but nothing seems to work. I guess I’m trying to say that this app is not a magic bullet for catching more bass. It’s fun to look at and exciting when an epic day is forecast but I don’t think it’s helped me catch more fish.

A Basic Bass Fishing App

GregInBrook

BassForecast excels in giving the best bass fishing times of day. I also like the recommended baits and the descriptions of how they are used. The app has a store to buy fishing stuff but I haven’t tried it yet. Although I am not dropping my rating, I do find the generic map function to be of limited value. I already know the “best” places to fish on my lake. Perhaps, if I fished different lakes, this map would have more value. Bottom line, I think BassForecast is worth the annual subscription for the features described above.

Not a good day

Today was an 8.6 rating so I missed a family gathering to go bass fishing. Strategy said fast presentation and use top water. Didn’t get a single bite on any of my top water lures. In 7 hours of fishing I caught only 3 keepers the biggest being 2 LBs. I fished from 7 AM - 2:30 PM. Prime bite was 1PM - 3 PM and I only caught one then. It was fun to be out in my bass boat but very dissatisfied.
