Best value as far as bar prep goes

BarMax offers the same materials as everyone else, they're just cheaper and more readily accessible. Those two things make it the best value going. There could be more in-person instruction and feedback available as far as the MEE and MPT go, but the app allows extra purchases of graded papers and if all else fails there are independent tutors available who are also more affordable than bothering with the top shelf competition.

Worth the price if you put in the work

First time passer

I graduated in the bottom 50% from a mid tier school in California, and I passed the July 2016 exam (42% pass rate) on my first try. I only used Barmax and baressays.com. From what I saw with friends who paid $5,000 for barbri and others, Barmax offers everything those courses offer and more in some cases. In my opinion the best feature of Barmax is the actual multiple choice questions from previous bar exams as well as the ability to have your essays graded by actual exam graders. I'm pretty sure no other company offers either of those. You have to be really motivated since this is a self study course and there is nobody to keep you on track. With that said, I felt like the lectures flash cards in the app prepared me very well for exam. You can't just rely on lectures and flash cards though, you have to spend a significant amount of time doing practice essays and performance tests, as well understanding the proper way to format your answers. The test is as much about knowing how to take the test as it is knowing the law. For the most part, the lectures were great, although some of the professors were a bit dry. I would also recommend purchasing the hard copy of the lecture outlines and additional multiple choice questions.

I've taken and passed two bar exams, but needed to get licensed in CA. BarMax was an incredibly easy and effective prep course to use to refresh my existing knowledge base. The topics are logically laid out and I loved that multiple choice questions and essay questions are targeted to individual subtopics. I liked the option to listen to lectures at 2x speed too. Thanks to BarMax, I just found out that I passed the July 2016 CA bar exam on the first try. Highly recommended!

Please fix the layout ASAP

I was expecting the update could really fix the poor layout inside the Q&A panel. However, not only old issues are left unfixed, bigger bugs are created. Now I cannot even see the entire question stem or full explanation! Please be serious with quality control! Fix the bugs ASAP!

Update has spawned big issue!

This newest update(3.1.12) has created a serious problem in the multiple choice questions. Since the update, the call of the question and/or the fact pattern are not visible. The app was great before this update. This needs to be fixed ASAP!!!

It is true the app has all sorts of issues but what amazes me is the poor quality of lectures & overall materials This course is a disaster! The MBE portion is a 4 out of 10 AND you can pay a portion of what you pay to BarMax to buy a much more quality MBE practice set elsewhere-Real Questions from Adaptibar Again, if you can afford it, just go with Barbri There is really no other way around it At least you know you will pass
