Working Great!

ChrisG20xx

I have an iPhone 7 Plus and the newest version BackBeat Fit Headphones (the ones that have the PLT with the stripes on the right). I haven't had any issues with the software update or my BackBeat Fit headphones. I do wonder if some of these bad reviews are from people with older phones and older BackBeat Fits. I've tried dozens of headphones for working out and these are the best I've ever owned. I've noticed that since the firmware update, it seems that my range between devices has increased. I've also noticed that I can wear my Apple Watch on either wrist now when running and the sound doesn't drop out. Beats and Jaybird should be worried because these cost less and are superior workout headphones. Plus they don't have that stupid dongle flopping around.

Plantronics BackBeat problems

California Mike

I have concern that updating my new BackBeat Fit would cause the device to not function, according to IOS comments since the Feb 1 update was issued. I contacted Plantronics Support, and received a prompt response from Plantronics support that indicated the update should work without problems with IOS 8.2 or later as long as the FIT was paired and not charging using the BackBeat FIT Companion app - any problems contact plantronics.com/contact support. Before attempting an update I tried unsuccessfully to register my device on the Plantronics website multiple times with my iPad with Safari, Safari after restarting my device and then Chrome I called Plantronics support about my problems registering an account prior to updating my FIT and was advised to use a PC to register my mobile FIT device...If I don't have one to either buy one, use a neighbors pc, or go to a library! How Ironic and embassing to have to use a PC to register a mobile device to connect to my mobile phone! ????. I requested that a problem report be registered in order to fix that problem. I think it is really poor to have to register online from a Public Library in this time of security concerns or beg PC access from a neighbor who may or may not have adequate internet security available. Update...I followed Plantronics Support suggestions after finally registering my device ( which asks for an upload of a picture of the purchase receipt ) on their web site from a PC which appeared to be internet secure. I have experienced no problems with the update or with operating it in all modes over the past several days...works great for me...good sound quality and when powering on advises of approximate battery charge remaining. Assuming it continues to work as it does now I'm very happy with the Backbeat Fit. Revising rating to 4 stars instead of 5 because of the uneven quality of support. I recommended to Plantronics Support that they fix their website so that product registration can be made from mobile devices and that they alert consumers to fully charge their device before updating firmware...or, even better, update the process to ensure a full charge before installing the update and providing customer updates before and during the process...

Update rendered them useless

CasLikeThat

Loved these headphones but the most recent update killed their ability to pair with my iPhone.

What happened

Can no longer pair with my iPhone. Fix the problem.

Good headphones... Shadey company.

Con the Coal-Man

You rendered your own product useless... seems like flawed logic. Shame... shame... shame.... shame... shame.... shame... shame...

Works good for me

I bounce between my iPad and iPhone a few times a day and this helps. It failed once but generally works. Wish you could reprogram button behavior. But the headset may be responsible for that, and not this software.

Got these as a gift.

I paired the headphones and was prompted to update. I did and it killed the headphones. They shut down, after speaking to customer service I had to send them for a replacement!! I didn't even get to use them!

Not happy

Not paring with my phone, same problems as other people on here.

Stopped PAIRING

Brannagan1987

I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing. All of a sudden the headphones don't pair anymore. So frustrating. Tired of spending money on something that doesn't work right. If all businesses worked this way, people would lose their jobs. And, I never write reviews. This is how frustrated I am.

Great earbuds

I've been hunting for earbuds for about 3 weeks. Sound is great, instructions are easy, and the cost was very good at $60. I was very concerned with some of the negative reviews bc these work very easy and with half the cost of big name brands, I'd rate these higher if there were more stars.
