Can't say enough good things. I've been learning Spanish for about 10 years on and off and the beginner lessons in this app gave me info I had never learned before. Easy and entertaining to use.

Fab program!

again again again again again

I learned a great deal of French with Babbel and now I'm learning Spanish. Love it!

The best language software

I use it nearly everyday for Spanish learning.

A flawed app

Aprendido en Honduras

I have been using Babbel for quite some time to help me with grammar. I like the app but it does have shortcomings. I live in Honduras and I find that the app is heavy on sayings and grammar used primarily in Spain. I also find I need to take a break from it after about a month because of some of their presenters. One is particularly annoying. He speaks in an extremely breathy voice, sort of a cross between a bad high school actor and Antonio Banderas. The last part of his words are only breathed, not pronounced, making him almost impossible to understand. One woman on the app has a heavy Argentine accent and pronounces words with ll and y with more of a g sound which just not go over well in Central America. The app is also not very intuitive, if you use a synonym, it will call your answer incorrect, you have to answer exactly as taught to get credit for an answer. Overall, the app is very extensive and teaches a sizable amount of grammar but if I had not already paid for the annual fee, I would not pay it again.

way too much keyboarding

It's extremely similar to duolingo, which is free, but the UI is a bit prettier. There are far too many lessons with keyboarding/typing, so if you are on subway or trying to get a lesson in while standing in line, forget it. On my small phone, it causes too many errors and is just not an enjoyable way to learn. I will probably not renew because of this.

Not enough explanation

None one knows.

Not enough explanation on how to use words and when do use the words in sentence form

Great for learning languages on the go

Reddskin

Convenient. Easy to use. Teaches real world language you can use right away.

Fun and educational

I am really enjoying learning Spanish with Babbel. It's fun. And addictive enough that I do "just one more lesson" before I stop. Then I've done 3!

Voice recognition needs to improve

Ricardo Duro

I do like the progress I have been able to make so far. Fortunately, I have been using Duolingo for almost a year, so this program has helped filling in the blanks in the structure of the language. But without a rudimentary understanding of Spanish, I think I would have really struggled starting with Babbel. Duolingo has helped me with pronunciation, and their voice recognition works very well. Not so much with Babbel. I had to go Into settings and turn off the mic to disable. It would not recognize a word as simple as adios. Very frustrating ! Duolingo is free and a great app. Babbel I admit teaches better, but I feel is pretty pricey for taking this endeavor to the next level. Especially given the poor voice recognition functionality.
