It’s handy

Arch5

I like that the lessons are short. I sometimes am frustrated when I have to quit in the middle of a lesson because usually when I go back to it the option to continue where I left off doesn’t engage. Could be a device problem? Otherwise is ok.

Want to love it but...

AllthingsDichotomy

If you are wanting to refresh your reading and writing skills, this program is very good. The interactive courses walk you through all the technical aspects of Spanish for practicing every part of the language, verb conjugation, placements of nouns and pronouns - indirect and direct, lots of varied vocabulary. But if want to practice the spoken language and actually think in that language, Pimsleur is a much better program. It is all conversation, listening and repeating, helping you think in that language allowing you to use what you learned in practical situations with confidence and competence. Babbel teaching style is translating from English to Spanish. What would make Babbel even better is a section that is just conversation, allowing you to be able to practice conversation Spanish while working on a another task such as gardening, driving, biking, working out at the gym or walking. I did purchase a year Babbel subscription and will use it but still using my tried and true Pimsleur. In fact, Pimsleur program helped me learn Mandarin and French and I was able to quickly able to speak and hear key phrases during my travels.

Castilian Spanish program

KOvertoom

This is a good program for writing and practicing Spanish at advanced levels. It also does a great job of explaining grammar. However, this is a Castilian Spanish course, not Latin American Spanish and there are differences in pronounciation, especially with “s” and “c” which are typically pronounced with a lisp. And the program does not do a good job training the ear by listening to long passages in Spanish at this point in time.

No in-app way to cancel subscription

pdxorus

I subscribed for 3 months to try it and it was okay but they immediately charged me another 3 months. I was just trying it. So I decided to cancel my sub so it doesn’t happen again but I have so far found no way to cancel. There is no way in the app or in the phone’s settings to stop getting charged. How do I stop the charges? I still don’t know.

Spanish made easy

Juan 2 B King

If it was that easy you wouldn't need this or any app. I was using Rose tta and still using it for years This app teaches you Spanish! I love it

Very helpful

nanz85

I purchased Rosetta Stone, but I find Babbel to be more helpful and easy to understand and navigate, so I purchased a year subscription.

Worth the subscription

Cmrineer

I’ve been using this for nearly a year and plan to renew. It’s fun and intuitive language learning. Fair warning. Do a lesson a day. Don’t cram. It works better to be consistent and not a weekend warrior. Happy learning.

That was a jip!!!

Groovy?

I was able to do one lesson and that’s it! To continue, I have to pay $10.99 for a month. Total rip-off!!! ?

I need Latin American Spanish

Mama Lane

This seems to be the European Spanish. Do you have Latin America?

AMAZING!

Regina Belle

How come not many people know this amazing app? The lessons are so simple and efficient. The grammar lessons won't also leave you with a 'what?' 'how' 'why tho' like many Spanish lessons, apps did. Worth every money we paid for. Great job, Babbel! Looking forward to seeing better improvements :3
