Castillian Spanish!

Amiesue20

I wish there was an option of which kind of Spanish to learn. I want to learn Spanish so I can talk to my Mexican friends...I don’t need all the “vosotros” stuff. Other than that, this is a great program.

Great App! — Suggestions.

Babble is the best Spanish app I’ve come across, and trust me, I’ve used a lot! Although, there are a few things that I wish were different. It’s difficult for me to understand the male voice when he is speaking very quickly, so perhaps in the future, Babble would consider putting in a slo-mo option? I’ve missed countless questions due to typos. Is there some way to prevent this? Otherwise, I’m very pleased with Babble. If you’re looking for a top of the line, educational app with loads of neat features, this is the one for you. Thank you!

Convenient and Effective

Babbel is making it possible for me to talk to my wife and her family in their native language, Spanish. The ability to have a Spanish lesson anywhere and any time, is finally paying of after 10 years of promises to learn.

I won't renew this app

Whirlebird

You have to guess which person the app is asking for - between formal and informal - and a lot of times the correct answer is ruled incorrect, even though the given answer and the correction are identical. Also, if you stop in the middle of a lesson on iPad, you have to start the lesson over when you return. AND, for some reason, lessons already finished come back as brand new, uncompleted lessons if you shut down your iPad at the wrong time ( which I haven't figured out yet).

The best!

Babble is the best language app for advanced speakers looking to continue learning and practicing! Most other apps either force you to start with the basics or only continue up to a novice high or intermediate low language level. Babble works great for intermediate highs all the way to experts!

The best for mobile

Loopy2005

I am learning Spanish via mobile apps because I’m really only doing it for fun. I don’t really need to know how to speak Spanish. I decided to do this to make me stop wasting so much time with solitaire. I already have Memrise and Rosetta Stone and have become interested enough in the language to really want to understand it. I don’t have time to sit in front of a computer screen because when I sit in front of the computer screen at home I have to work. I have to work on the big computer even in my free time. So I want something that I can enjoy on the sofa on my phone away from my other work that is done after I come home from my day job. Neither Rosetta Stone nor Memrise offer this. They don’t explain enough about the language. I tried the first lesson for Babble and was able to see right away that they cared enough about their mobile users to make the program attempt to have you understand the language as well as just parrot back words and phrases. In the first lesson they explained things that I had needed to go to Google Search to understand in the other two apps that I use. So I bought it! The only problem is that it could not recognize when I said ¡Hola! Rosetta Stone has no problem with this. So it needs work with it the voice recognition. But since I already have Rosetta Stone and I’m using that at the same time as Babbel it doesn’t really matter, but the developers need to need to look at this. Rosetta stone doesn’t think I say ¡Hola! perfectly but it gives me a pass.

The best language app I’ve used

Bc0828

I’ve only been using the app for a couple days but this is the first app that has helped me understand the language better. I’ve used Rosetta Stone and duolingo and they don’t give good explanations on how and which reflex of verbs and pronouns to use. This apps gives you tips along the way. My only complaint is that the voice recognition feature doesn’t work very well when sounding out words/phrases and I wish there was a back button to go to the previous screen. Other than that, I love it!
