Just wanted to be one of the first reviewers. Will update after using the app.
Having problems streaming from my home computer to iPhone, songs start and play for about 7 sec. then skips to the next song. But if it starts working I think you've got a big hit!
I installed this to check it out as a possible replacement for the now defunct Audiogalaxy in order to stream my library from home to my iDevice. While I applaud the efforts of the developers to try to offer as many different playback source options as possible, I feel like they should have paired it down a bit and focused a little more on the usage of the app. For one, not being able to view a rather large library by artist, THEN by album is a major oversight in my opinion. Also, as someone else stated, playback from AudioBox desktop is a tad bit buggy. Quite often a song would stop and skip to the next track for no apparent reason. That said though, I will definitely keep it installed and wait for an update to see what the developers have in store.
You need to be able to sort by ARTIST, ALBUM, SONGS, PLAYLISTS and GENRES, like on iTunes. When you have 10,000 songs to sort through it gets too crazy on this app to do so. ALSO the app needs to keep you logged in and not ask for login in you haven't used it in a few hours. I love the idea and the service but I can't get it to stream from my home PC on 3G when I'm out and about. Hopefully all of this gets fixed and I might pay for it. Also album art is not loading even over wifi. I don't know why.
But everytime I click on something it says audio mash missing or subscription or something i5
I love the concept for this app, but I don't really use these cloud services for music. Please add support for pogoplug and Ubuntu one cloud and this app would be perfect.
With Dropbox shuttering audiogalaxy, I needed a replacement app for streaming my home music collection while driving in my car. Locally on your computer, Audiobox does a good job of indexing all my music. But when I load the app on my iPhone running 6.1.2, it can only sync 10% (at most) of my music. Every one of my files is DRM-free. The app cannot play back files, either. Makes no difference if I am attempting over wifi or a strong 3g connection. No playlist support, no search functionality. Maybe I'll come back to it when they correct the issues.
Audiobox is a great tool for my needs, it's stable, intuitive - it does what it promises. However, and I understand this is an evolving product... - the "Fetching" lag times are killing me. I only have 150 songs in the AudioBox Cloud and each time I switch between lists (using the App player), I have to wait 20 seconds for the Fetch to complete - and that's over really fast WiFi and regardless of whether there have been updates to the Cloud library. Pretty much a deal breaker if that isn't corrected. A manual sync/Fetch, rather than auto would be preferred if the time can't be improved. -There needs to be some ordering possibilities other than Artist-Alpha (by Date-Added would be great in addition to the other usual sorting options as in iTunes). -Uploading directly to a Playlist rather than a two step upload to the library, then locating the tracks and moving them into a Playlist would be nice. -It seems like I can delete or hide the built-in playlists (DropBox, SoundCloud etc) at the web-based Cloud drive, but that doesn't carry down to the App player - and there's no customization option for that within the player. Lastly, I'd like a more feature-rich AudioBox Desktop. It's a good start though! Looking forward to an update and hope it addresses some of these issues.
