Good app but needs more content and music

tss2291

This app in general is great, but after a while there aren’t enough workouts to go around. Most of them require gym equipment like cables, so not the best if you have a home gym. The recent update also silences your music while doing the workout which is the biggest issue - I can’t use it if that’s the case.

I loved it until it stopped working

Esmeraldavilli

I love Whitney and all her workouts were amazing! After the trial period I ended up signing up for the subscription and that’s when my app stopped working. My friend had the same problem. She said to reinstall or to restart my phone, but that didn’t help. It’s a shame I had to cancel my subscription.

Prep

Alyssa okay

Love this app! Only complaint is that you can’t see the weights you did last exercise before you start the workout which makes setting up difficult.

Love this app

Laydeebugt

I’ve been following Whit for years now. I was definitely going to support her app. Low and behold it’s amazing! Easy to follow, simple and pleasing to the eye. I do have a little bit of an issue tho… my next workout does not pop up. I have to go back and search for it. It’s a little annoying especially when I’m in the gym ready to go. But will that stop me from using the app?? ??‍♀️ naaaaa. It’s great. Good job Whit❤️❤️❤️

There could be more guidance

NatPiper1017

I really like the workouts, but I think there are some easy ways to improve the usability of the app. One being that there is no guidance other than the videos, and sometimes there are hard to see details on the exercises and the form. And there are somethings that are important to help prevent injury (Ie should my feet be flexed? Should I engage my core?) I’ve never seen some of these exercises before and have had to google them to make sure I’m doing it right after experiencing pain in my knees and lower back, and I wasn’t. It would also be really helpful, especially on the cardio workouts and the timed sets, if there was 3-5 seconds to transition to the next exercise and see what the next exercise it. When I’m supposed to go from a 30 second plank to a weighted squat, I lose 5 or more seconds of work checking which exercise is coming, getting up, grabbing my weights and setting into the exercise. Even just a verbal que of “prison squats, 30 seconds” would help transition faster. As much as I want to memorize the sets, I forget the order of things some verbal questions would be helpful for the days you need to keep moving and keep your heart rate up. I really like the work outs my arms are still dead 2 days later, I just think for the monthly price, these are features a lot of other apps have that would really improve the usability.

I love Whitney but

The app is designed well but lacks the content. Her instagram or youtube has way better workouts for FREE. It’s frustrating to know this app is $14 a month and doesn’t have that much content. Love you Whit but pls add more inclusive workouts.

Not fluffy friendly/no explanation to workouts

nsuhzsiqk

It’s okay, I’m on week 6 and I feel there are a fire things wrong with this app.I did the alive beginner program and started at 160 lbs and very out of shape. 1)no explanation to what each exercise is and what it’s supposed to be working. And no alternatives to those exercises either. As well as no explanation on what part of your body the stretches are supposed to be stretching either. 2)no ab workouts?? Not even just a 5 minute addition on the end of the workout. None. 3)some workouts are extremely advanced and difficult to do without hurting yourself if you weigh more than 130 lbs. like the curtsy lunges and the Bulgarian squats. 4)on the cool down and warm ups, there should be a 5 second window to switch to the next stretch but there’s not and since they are timed, you have to rush to switch 5) this program focuses way too much on legs and not enough on core and back strength. 6) only one cardio day a week… should be at least two. I’m 6 weeks in and have been eating at a 1200 calorie deficit and eating 30% protein and have only noticed a change in my legs which is fine but I feel like if the program was more balanced, I’d notice a difference in my arms as well. I don’t personally recommend this if you are overweight and trying to lose weight through strength training. She basically has you do a ton of squats and leg workouts and that’s it, arm day once a week and full body once a week but full body just focuses on legs mostly. No abs, and for whatever reason no calf workouts.

Wish it was compatible with my Apple Watch

This app is incredible, overall. The workouts and the way it is built to be easy to follow is great. But I wish that I could forward an exercise from my Apple Watch and could look at it on my Apple Watch as I’m working out so I don’t have to have my phone on me or constantly pick it up and put it down! But overall, the best workout app that has worked for me. I don’t have to think about what to do anymore when I go to the gym, which is a dread when I want to change up my workout lol please try and make it compatible with the Apple Watch!!!

Absolutely Great

Super easy to use, and the workouts are great for beginners and intermediate. The journaling option and progress pics also really help with the mental health aspect. Thank you so much Whitney for creating such a great app ❤️

No instructions on proper form

trying2begin

Hello, Why are there no instructions on the form during an exercise? How can I prevent myself do something wrong if I don’t what muscles I am training in an exercise? Not everyone is inform on the correct forms so I feel that if I am paying essentially for a personal trainer through this app that it should included the following information: 1. Correct form 2. Instructions 3 Highlighting the muscles that are specifically being trained in each exercise It should be written and also voiced so I don’t constantly have to look at my phone during a specific exercise. Thanks
