Amazing

Amazing game that looks very simple in the beginning, but slowly opens up all its depth. Many modern AAA games lack what this one has, while it’s almost only textual.

Wow. Just wow.
La Te Ame

This game was so much fun. The lure to get more supplies, build more, explore more—it all fed that dopamine side of me without the game coming off a tacky. And the mystery of the game that slowly unfolded...just wow. I didn’t want to stop playing, because I needed to know, and...wow. Overall, a well crafted game that kept me engaged. Now that I beat it, well...I very well might try beating it again. Although I’m sure that she’d be disappointed...

Unlike anything I’ve played before.

Although I agree with most of the reviews, I’m not going to gush over this game and make you think it’s Gods gift to text based games, as this is my first, but I will say as a culminate experience, it is without a doubt worth your money and 5 stars. My only complaint would be I wish it had its own soundtrack. Just a subtle breeze blowing through the trees while you’re managing your village. Music, or even ambient sounds, I’ve found, profoundly impact video games, especially ones as meaningful as ADR. Outside of that, as my first text based game, it was enjoyable and I feel like I’ve been missing out on a very special genre of video games. At 35 years, I’ve missed a lot of good games over the years and thankfully ADR has opened my eyes. Honestly, after beating the game, the extra stuff in the menu from these guys would have provoked me to give 5 stars even if the game was abysmal. It was a very nice touch and something unseen in the industry. Thank you!

Browser version preferred but interesting take

I think the original version you play online in a computer browser has cleaner UI and a more encouraging narrative, but it was still interesting to get to experience some variation in the story

PLAY THE GAME!!

I’ve seen so many reviews of people saying “I paid for a game about lighting fire??” PLAY THE GAME! It picks up quickly and is enjoyable!

So different and so engaging!!

I just discovered this game a few days ago on the web and then downloaded it on my phone. Both versions are amazing. I had no idea what to expect, but the title caught my eye, and even though it’s a little but slow at first, it really hooks you with the additions, surprises, and mysteries it reveals. Thanks so much for this game! Such an unexpected surprise and delight!

Phenomenal Gaming Experience

I don’t even know why I first downloaded this game, but I did on my iPhone 4 and it was game changing. It was an RPG that left so much up to the imagination that the visions were endless. The first time I played through this game I built huts and took people and tried to build our village up together. I went out and tried to gather materials to get us further and keep us safe. It absolutely threw me when the builder called me a murderer. It was even worse when she told me my people were slaves. Up until that point I hadn’t considered I was over working them, but rather we were doing this together. I kept going regardless tho because I wanted to see the end of the game. I wanted to help her, but she wasn’t happy with how I was getting us out. Now I replayed this game a couple days ago on my iPhone 11 because the completed game didn’t transfer over so I wanted to beat it again and in the back of my mind was “complete the game without huts” it seemed important for me to remember so I did it. It was slow going, but it was intimate. The relationship the builder and I shared felt different. She was sweet and when she would pass out I would worry about her. I died a lot and didn’t get materials as quickly, but everything I did I was proud of working for her. We got off the planet safely after about 2.5 hours and I felt really good about the play through. It was unique from the first, but shared the same nostalgic game play as my precious play through years before. It’s also my favorite thing that when you complete the game you get developer secrets into the planning of this game. It’s just such a great way to understand what goes into a game you love so like A+ feature for sure I definitely enjoy listening to them over and over. If you’re looking for a unique gaming experience with characters and story you can connect to emotionally while viewing them as code, text and icons this is DEFINITELY the game for you! Highly recommended 10/10 have not stopped talking about it.

I played this game when it first released onto the App Store, played it non stop, the very fact the story telling is so good it kept me Playing even tho it’s simply a game of reading should show the fact that it’s a truly unique and mesmerizing game

I just finished a Journey And got lots of new stuff like iron swords and steel swords and after I embarked I decided to review this application even though I haven't played it in a while. It's... it's like... so real. In this very unique Story, I had a theft in the village. Just today, this evening, The villagers, my slaves, found the bad guy and killed him and I got over ten thousand of my supplies back. Get this and go far into this story and You'll get to the guts of this incredible story. The best thing about it is before long, you're kinda combining a bunch of things together. I first bought this game because I was going on a very long trip to upper peninsula of Michigan and it first was this boring game where all you could do is stoke this fire you have lit. The cool thing about it is when the fire isn't lit, it will show it's title, a dark room. If the fire is lit, the header will show a fire lit room instead. I've beaten the game several times. But after upgrading to iPadOS 13 every time I try to listen to one of the parts of the commentary of secrets the app will crash. I am a voiceover user which makes this game a lot slower but I like it anyway.
