So great!

My absolute FAVORITE music app. Ever.

5 stars to 1 to 5

I, like many of you, was outraged and disappointed when 8tracks ended its free unlimited listening. I deleted the app and tried to find solace in its competitors. I tried every music app's free version out there, and yet, here I am back at 8tracks. It really has the best music. And when you think of it, is $30/year, or $2.50/month really that much for unlimited listening of the best music? Nope. Not at all. I'm happy to be back!

Long time user

I've been using 8tracks for years and I love how it keeps improving. BUT you better work out your business model. My personal use has dropped because the subscription model is pretty outrageous for the price. Good luck.

Big let down

Was good when they started till the greed settled in. Will continue to use Spotify at least I'm not limited how long I can enjoy music there. This app should be renamed to $tracks

A+ Community-Oriented Resource

If you REALLY want to support the site, don't snub a service that's exhausting every avenue (yes, even the unpopular ones) to keep itself afloat. I've been using 8tracks for many years now, and there's really nothing else like it. If you're satisfied with algorithmically-generated radio stations and playlists—like what you can readily find on Spotify, Google Play, and Pandora—then you probably won't see the value in paying for another subscription service. However, I pay $30 dollars annually to listen to community-curated mixes, and I find that it's an excellent value for what you get: unlimited listening and no ads (along with some other nifty add-ons). I do pay this on top of a music subscription service (Spotify), but again, the value of being able to access a wide variety of unique artists and genre combinations pays for itself. It's sad that the community has been hindered by the restrictions imposed upon creators and listeners in countries other than the United States. The fees and limits have also chased away a fair amount of my favorite users. However, the community still remains active, and there's plenty of new mixes being created daily. If you're like me, and you grew up sharing mix tapes with friends and family, then 8tracks is well worth the additional music subscription.

Best pre-made playlist app

Yes you now have to pay for 8tracks but it was an easy decision for me because I use it constantly. I like searching for a genre of music and having 1000s of pre-made playlists from real people, not a corporation that thinks they know what you want. It’s relatively the same price as Apple Music or Spotify etc. Def worth it.

Worth the money

It's Like All the Music of the World in One Place

Dlh19003

Where else can I find a 21st century K-Pop cut and a Korean pop song from the 1950's in the same place? 8tracks has music I would have never heard otherwise. There are cuts from my favorite 60's groups that I never knew existed. From ABBA to ZZ Top and their counterparts from around the world. They are all here. Everyone likes free, but this is still a steal for less than a cup of Starbucks joe each month.

A “free” music app that isnt free.

So apparently now you must pay just to listen to music. It was a great app before and now they ruined it being greedy forcing you to pay just to listen. Not worth downloading!

What's the point?

I used to LOVE this app and just recently downloaded it again to see all the playlists I made a couple years back. I was a little disappointed that the unlimited music was gone but decided to pay to listen because why not I can cancel it any time but what's the point of paying money to listen to music but not be able to skip more then 3 times In a playlist and 6 times within an hour? If you expect me to pay to listen to the music on this app I should be able to skip when I want whenever I want.
