Questionable T&C and data collection consent

Seems very fishy to me. Why do you need my contact info and billing information other than in app purchases. Why share that with third party marketing. This app is supposed to dictate text right? The dev seems active so maybe they will respond. Also noticing duplicate reviews using the same text from different accounts. How trustworthy are these reviews anyway. Three stars for now. Quick uninstall for me.
Good recording, awful transcribing.

The recording was good and I was satisfied with that part. However, this company should have people who speak English as their first language transcribe and should not outsource to people from other countries who do not. I had to get a refund because the human transcribing was awful!

Needs better technical service for troubleshooting. The communication aspect of this app is absolutely garbage. There should be a way to talk one on one or communicate more efficiently than through the app or the website. On the website you submit an email and wait half a day or more to get a two sentence response that means nothing. My transcription service would always time out both on WiFi and LTE. Half the time the app worked. The other time it worked ok. Save your money.

I paid 4.99 for unlimited recording and it didn’t work, then I paid 12.99 for the premium version to see if it would work for me.. complete waste of money. I tried to record a 45 minute call for a study I’m doing and nothing saved! I had this app for a day and wasted both time and money.

The app stops recording without warning

The app stops recording when a phone call comes in, even when the call is not picked up. And then the app doesn’t restart recording unless you press the record button. But that is not an appropriate workflow at all. People can’t constantly monitor the application to make sure it’s recording. The end result is you miss huge swaths of a recording and worst of all there is a deep feeling of anger after realizing that a recording you thought you had was in fact not recorded all all.

As to the features besides transcription, which I have not yet tried (but love knowing the option is there and have high hopes), this is by far the best recording tool I’ve ever used. I’m a writer (clearly, I guess?), and I love that I can just tap the bookmark when I have come to an idea which seems particularly important (because I’m also a rambler). Other ones do this, but the clarity of the screen makes it easier, truly, and it doesn’t annoyingly make you press anything else or ask if you want to make a note (although you can!), it just keeps rolling and so do I. Adding pictures had actually come in handy, including those of web pages on my laptop with relevant info. It keeps up with data between my Mac, iPhone , and iPad seamlessly. It’s clean and really just lovely, and although this shouldn’t make a difference, it does. I’m quite affected by atmosphere in general when I’m in creative mode and seeing the sleek lines flow with my voice—surprisingly, there is something quite pleasing about this. I could go on, but will just say that I have tried so many apps like this and, again, this is all I use now. I will update when/if I use the transcription service. Thanks developers!! You guys must have writers on staff. Keep up the good work!

Smart record is absolutely a professional app. I really like this app because the quality of recording voice is good. Moreover all functions which is provided by this app are so useful. I can easily add a text or a photo to any period of recoded audio and share it by many ways that I would like to share.
