Used to work now only crashes

I have a 4th gen iPad with iOS 10 and the Macworld app used to work previously but now only crashes. I have tried force rebooting the iPad by pressing power and home buttons and even deleting and reinstalling the app. IOS 10 is the last compatible version of iOS on my iPad. I even tried on an iPhone with iOS 11 that has never had the app previously and it still crashes. I see the app was last updated May of 2017 and says iOS 8 and up. Can MacWorld please recommend a fix and/or issue a software update to resolve this.


Startup problems

App crashes on startup often. It will work for an update or two then start the same old crashing again. Difficult to read my subscription to say the least.


Unreliable App

The magazine is fine, but the app to use it is horrible. I'm using it on my iPad Pro and, while it was fine for some time, has begun crashing within seconds of opening it. I deleted the app (and my year's worth of downloads) and it doesn't seem to help. It's an insult to be paying for a digital subscription and not be able to access it. Worse, IDG doesn't seem to care. At least give us the option to download PDF files that aren't rooted to the terrible application.

I’m changing my comment on this app because I discovered the ultimate solution! First, delete this useless old app! Then, install the Zineo app. Register your new account on Zineo using your old Macworld id and password. I installed the Zineo app on my MacBook first and registered the account there. On the iPad, I then just logged in. All your issues show up and the reader works great!

I’ve used the app in whatever version for several years, and it has been adequate. But now on my iPad 6 it crashes a few seconds after opening. I’ve reinstalled, rebooted, to no avail. Please fix!

I loved this magazine and loved reading it on my devices but I haven’t been able to open the app since the latest update I’ve tried to delete the app and reinstall it but it still crashes hopefully the developers see this and make the needed adjustments

I am unable to "restore my purchases". This happens every time I use the app. I have to delete the app and download it again. Tap the star to bookmark an article. You get an empty list of bookmarks.


Update to previously bad review...

...it continues to get worse. Can’t download the new monthly issue, restore not responsive, customer service clueless. Every month it’s the same issue, same problem. And yes, I’ve looked at accessing the material via different devices. No issue with MacLife. I’ve finally given up and cancelled my subscription. Done.


Macworld strikes again

The December issue is blank, totally unreadable. What gives. Update: 2 issues fail to download. Trying to contact the developer, in addition to being difficult is also useless. They don't get the problem and definitely don't know how to fix the probation. Will definitely cancel my iTunes subscription.


RB Digital App Works - No Subscription Required

Wow, this is a completely unusable app. I download an issue, read, leave the app and come back, the issue is white on every page. I need to redownload the issue every time just to continue reading. I deleted the app and tried again, and get the same results. I had to turn to my local library app RB Digital to be able to read my magazine. It’s not as pretty as your app but it has one advantage - it works (and it’s free with a local library membership). And I have been a print and digital subscriber for years and years. I am terribly disappointed.
