Finally, an app that undoes the damage smartphones have caused. – Super Friend: A Friendly Reminder App Review

You walk into a bar perfectly coiffed and wearing your favorite outfit. You’re having a cute day. You’re feeling social. And everyone is on their damned phone. There are no lonelier people than the ones whose lives are confined to tiny retina displays showing highlight reels of the lives of their "friends." What if we spent more time developing quality relationships with people instead of just clicking the like button? It’s not that hard; all you have to do is keep in contact — real contact. But how do you do that with everyone you care about? You can start with Super Friend. I’ve been using this app for several weeks now, and because of the notifications I get to contact my friends/family, I’ve been having more in person meet ups and phone conversations than I have in months. I feel like I’m really getting to know my friends on a different level, and I’m finding it much easier to create and sustain new friendships. In fact, this app is so useful that I hope it expands into a new form of social networking service — one purely focused on staying in contact with your friends individually instead of blasting a firehose of pictures, posts, and information at whoever will read it. I’d give this app five stars if it allowed me to have some metadata attached to my friends. I want to make notes on what we talked about, how we met, birthdays, and anything else pertinent. Sounds like CRM but for people I really care about!
