Tuning preferences ignored – Flipboard: The Social Magazine Review

I realize that a user-curated newsreader like Flipboard is a sort of filter bubble by design, but then Flipboard piles its own filter bubble on top of yours. No amount of “tuning” will reduce the relentless onslaught of Kardashian Photoshop fails inundating my Photoshop magazine, which I dearly wish could be about Photoshop. Also, no matter how often I try, I can’t tune away the dank, murky Storyboard eyesores that yank viewers out of the Flipboard visual aesthetic. Add the above to the ubiquitous ads and ever-increasing subscription come-ons, and it’s clear that Flipboard has lost its lead over Apple News. It’s still good, but no longer great.
