Poor design & fuctionality – Venmo Review

I was surprised to see how poorly designed this app was when I heard it was owned by PayPal. It’s really confusing to navigate and find things, and for some reason the developers felt that everything you do on the app should be shared with the world like a social network. If you don’t change privacy settings, anyone can see the transactions that you’re making. This is crazy! Other features are not very helpful for ease of use like the face ID and pin. It turns off every time I exit the app and I have to retype my username and password. So inconvenient! Most frustrating is the fact that you can’t use your Venmo balance unless it covers the full amount that you’re spending. It’s my money so I should be able to use it how I want if I’m covered for the rest with a credit card or bank account. In PayPal, you can use your PayPal balance and then your alternative payment method to offset.
