A must for birdwatching – Merlin Bird ID by Cornell Lab Review

Don’t expect it to ID _every_ bird but it’s pretty accurate. What’s more, you can download regional packs that have sounds that aren’t included in eBird. It was invaluable on my trip to Costa Rica.
