Washington Post post – Washington Post Review
It is a very good paper. I originally got it because it liked Jennifer Rubin and Eugene, both columnists..Now I like Jonathan Capehart. He is also almost as good as Mark
Shields. (I was raised in a Boston suburb, and my father’s parents were Irish immigrants). Give me a few years and Capehart will be my new favorite.
I have watched the Friday night PBS show with Shields since Gergin was on. I liked them. Then, Shields was partnered to a Wall Street Journal editorial writer, named Gigot. He was too partisan, no discussions. I rather disliked him. Then Brooks joined Sheilds, and things returned to an idea exchange, not partisanship and loyalty to party, regardless of Gigot’s foolish justifications.
Jonathan Capehart, a Washington Post writer is a terrific balance to a Republican NY Times writer.and both are good at the exchanging of opinions, not t arguing, as Gigot did, when paired with Shields.
I still miss Shields, but To have a Washington Post reporter with David Brooks as a regular on PBS, Is great.
We, my husband and I reserved Friday nights to stay home , unwind after a week working, and we always watched PBS news, then Washington Post Week in Review. Now we are retired, and we still do that.
