Years of using has made me a better cook – Mealime Meal Plans & Recipes Review

Right off the bat, I want to say I had given Mealime 5 stars in the past when I was on the annual plan, but now that it requires a monthly subscription instead of annual for Pro, my dislike of being nickel and dimed by apps with a monthly subscription model overshadowed my love of Mealime. Monthly subscriptions seems to be the model a lot of developers moving to, but if I wasn’t already a customer, that would have turned me off entirely. As far as the app and service itself, I’ve been a paying Mealime customer since the days of emailed PDF recipes. The service has changed A LOT over the years, and mostly for the better. It’s encouraged me to try new foods and cooking techniques that I would have never considered, and quite a few have become high rotation favorites. Mealime proves you don’t need to spend hours in the kitchen making tons of dishes for a delicious home cooked meal. Coming up with a meal plan is an enjoyable experience every week, and new meal drop day is always exciting (although less predictable timing wise lately). The grocery list is good enough that I don’t need a dedicated separate grocery list app. As far as cooking, I really like how the app displays ingredients and recipes, but that’s limited to their recipes; any you import are unfortunately quite basic. A few friends that tried the free version were a bit disappointed in the limited number of free recipes, but I still do recommend it to all my friends and family.
