Estimate ONLY – Measure Review

So, this is a long review; but filled w/ info that wanna read if not in Trades/CONST world or not a DIYer that’s handy w/ tools. This is one of the better Measuring Apps out there in the App Wilderness we all love to explore and clutter our devices with, lol. That said, remember, if you are needed something to be accurate enough for a “construction/remodel/etc” project to within 1/16-1/8 inch…. FOR ALL THAT IS HOLY, DONT USE THE MEASUREMENTS THIS APP GAVE YOU, especially if using to cut down some material or anything else (like making cabinets, a shelf) ORDERING A CUSTOM ANYTHING (like curtain rods or blinds & you decide to use this app for measurements, smh) when they arrive after spending money, most likely will not be accurate or will be modding it one way or another….JUST USE A GOOD OLE TAPE MEASURE (if don’t have one, BUY IT, as Home Depot always has Stanley Fat Max, Milwaukee Tapes on sale for $9.99—$19.98 & most times that $20 price is a 2 pack! Every house needs a GOOD TAPE, & please don’t buy some weird name off internet (ya know the sites I’m hinting at, go to hardware store or hardware store’s online site and order it there). Ok, to recap: For “estimates” and “projects” that don’t REQUIRE you to be accurate (meaning measurements need to be w/in 1/16-1/8 of actual measurement) this is GOOD TO GO, GREAT SIMPLE App to use, and like the save features it has baked in Calibration can be wonky, light plays a role, along w/ devices camera setup as well; but Apple has done a pretty great job optimizing this app to specific device and hardware it has, good job Apple. Just remember, IF NEED & WANT ACCURATE MEASUREMENTS (in Trades, again, means 1/16-1/8 inch PERIOD, anything larger and not accurate) USE A TAPE (especially if doing mission critical work); but if just need a GUESTIMATE MEASUREMENT for job doing at the time and no tape, than this ok(& if don’t wanna go back with a tape, put $1-$100 bill by what measuring; or any “plastic/credit card” & take a PICTURE. The cards and money are “measurements that never change” and able to use for getting an accurate enough measurement for job w/o returning to re-measure w/ a tape….as an fyi/imo construction tip. My score=4.2/5 stars & hope updates fix some of bugs from new OS’s
