Won’t play downloaded movies?? – Google TV: Watch Movies & TV Review

I purchased a movie to watch on a flight and downloaded it to my iPad. App won’t play the movie without internet connection. I would think the app description was accurate but I guess not. Waste of space for the app and money spent on the movie.
