Makes Technical Drawings Easy – Fusion 360 Review

I’m a furniture maker and designer. I’ve used Adobe Illustrator for over 10 years to “draft” my designs the old school way. I’ve used Fusion 360 for about a year and a half now and I’m so glad I made the leap. I can virtually eliminate mocking up any design in real life by making my models with Fusion. Altering a design is so fast. I make full size patterns with the send to PDF tool and then print on my large format printer to use directly in my shop. I also use the Shaper Tools Origin plug in to make vector cut files to use on my handheld CNC. It’s really sped up creating new designs or altering existing ones. I’m also taking years of designs and making models so that I can easily produce complete technical drawings. I do find a few limitations on lay out but I send the pdf to Adobe Illustrator and clean up and adjust the layout. The YouTube video by Lars Christiansen are amazing. They are getting a bit dated by I know of no other recourse where you can learn different aspects of Fusion so quickly and he’s got a congenial delivery thats enjoyable to watch.
