Ask a Friend is intrusive – 4 Pics 1 Word Review

Update: I finally deleted this game after I realized that their picture-blocking, wiggling Ask A Friend icons were just stressing me out and the game was no longer enjoyable. —— I’ve enjoyed playing this game for a long time, but the Ask a Friend option has gotten ridiculous. First, there were icons that partially covered the right side of the pictures. I could live with that. Then, it changed so the icons wiggle every 20-30 seconds. I spend more time distracted by waiting for that stupid wiggle than I do thinking of the word game. As if that weren’t enough, the most recent addition is a large “ask your friends” button that sits right below the letters and stretches the whole width of the letter grid. I get it: the developers want the Ask a Friend feature to work like free advertising for them. Understandable. But it’s gotten in the way of gameplay and I find myself choosing other games to play most of the time because of it.
