Poor organization – HCMToGo Review

It’s too bad that such a good idea was poorly executed. We recently switched to electronic time sheets with this app and I’m not super happy with the organization. I have to navigate through 2 different screen/menus to get to “clock in”. Why on earth there isn’t a option to clock in and out on your dash board is a little ridiculous. Requesting time off and looking at my time sheet is so confusing I can’t believe the old guys in the shop haven’t given up on it already. I feel like I need a business degree and a specialized two week training course to understand terminology, and labels for specific items. That’s after I figure out strange sorting techniques and how to access the most important features which are buried in menus. To whomever is designing the UI, LESS IS MORE! Things should be easy to get to and self explanatory. Clocking in and out is 90% of my activity on the app. Put it front and center with two clearly labeled buttons. Instead of giving us raw and calculated totals give us a normal unit like total actual time or the rounded time that we get paid for (depending on company). Requesting vacation should be laid out so you pick a start date and and end date from separate calendars or a date entry box. You shouldn’t have to specify the type of time off first, or if you do - hide the massive calendar until that step has been initiated. My point is that things should flow much smoother and it feels like someone has gone out of their way to make this an annoying app. Please spend some time updating the clunky interface!
