Widget Issues – Word of the Day・English Vocab Review

I purchased a lifetime membership but the app isn’t behaving as I expected it to. When I click on the word from the widget to reveal its meaning and example, it instead shows an entirely different word in the app. Studying the one word that shows up on my widget every day was the sole reason I purchased this app ($20). How do I fix this? I tried to contact the developer but there’s no website, contact info, or app support page. Every link just seems to open up the app and that’s about it.
