Crappy App, flawed testing strips – Pool Time ClearPool Expert™ Review

I agree with the reviews I’ve seen that mention that the strips are most often between colors on the chart, making accurate entry an impossibility. I’ve followed their recommendations so many times, only for my numbers to not budge, or to be thrown off in other categories. Yesterday I had a usable pool with a slightly high “total chlorine” reading. I sat in it for 15 minutes with no issues, but then I made the mistake of following this crappy app’s suggestion to add 1 pound of shock and let my pump run. Fast forward to today, and both my total chlorine and my free chlorine readings are at off the charts. Now I have a pool that’s totally unusable until both of those numbers have gone down. Until I’m out of these strips, I think I’ll have to trust my own direct observation over their difficult color guides. After that, I I’ll have to stick to taking my water to local pool stores and getting their readings. Might save me the stress of having squint to squint to determine which damned shade of reddish/orange/brown or bluegreen/blue/darkblue is actually on my strip and trying to best match it to the chart, then adding more crap to my water that totally messes up the other readings.
