Why the hell can't the catalogues be purchased directly through iTunes? – Scott Catalogue Review

I don't purchase anything over wifi or 4g. Why can't the catalogues be purchased directly from iTunes from my Mac? Are negative reviews considered inappropriate for the App Store. I'm beginning to think that it was Steve Jobs on the screen of the "1984" commercial.
