Nothing to do with the snark – Snark Busters: High Society Review

I'm uncertain of what the game developers' intentions were with this installment of Snark Busters, considering that it has virtually nothing to do with the snark. The snark isn't mentioned until well into the game (and even then only briefly) and the lead character isn't hunting the snark, she's trying to find a lost necklace to clear her fiancé's name and she happens to venture into the backwards world to look for it. I missed the music from the previous games and the little icons that pop up while you're searching for parts do get in the way. Also, as another reviewer mentioned, be sure to click on the schematic TWICE... Otherwise it disappears, the help button stops working, and you can't progress with the game. It's a nice little glitch that requires starting the game over if you don't click twice on the schematic. I wish I had more positive things to say about the game, but it just feels... clunky and awkward compared to the previous Snark Busters games that I really enjoyed. The charm of the other games was totally lost in this one for me. Also as another reviewer said, some solutions weren't very intuitive and I had to consult the walkthrough guide more than I would have liked. A slight annoyance unrelated to game play was how the lead character's mouth continued to move for quite awhile after her voiceover ended... No developer looked at that and said, "Oops, better shorten that! She stopped talking seconds ago but her mouth is still going!"? Sloppy.
