Not fully functional yet – TricCam Review

I just received yesterday my Tric flash trigger purchased few days ago. Looks like a flash receiver but not a strong or sturdy unit, kind of cheap manufacture. Anyways, I downloaded the version lite of the app offering only ISO control to test if it would work with my iPhone 12 Pro Max and it did connect to my phone and triggered my flash; soot showed compatibility with the last iPhone and IOS 14.x versions. Took some shots and I had to adjust the flash power and distance to the subject as other system only operates on manual mode which I have no problem but the functionality of my 3 lenses was limited to only one. I installed then the paid version of the app and I did found the other controls, however these are my observations: 1- the app is not fast responsive to the touch gestures, it takes forever to move up and down the control menu. 2- only 1 camera can be operated and the zoom function does not work and this lack of functionality avoid using the great professional potential offered by the array of cameras that this iPhone model offers. 3- when checking the photo just taken for feedback, it takes more than 30 seconds to appear in the screen instead of being instantaneous. I think that there is a lot of potential with this device but it should start with an fully functional app that permits the full use of all the iPhone cameras, more responsive touch control, a better GUI with bigger buttons. First is your update of the app and second a better construction of the actual trigger: the flimsy feeling will not attract advanced or professional users looking for a trusty and rugged device to carry on the field. The ability to create professional flash lightning with this app/device is very seducing but is has to be done right.
