Great App, Wish I Could Switch to It. – nightguard Review

Was able to setup and configure Nightscout using the walk thru. Like the app a lot. Looks like a great group of folks have contributed to this project. I can't understand why alerts are not able to sound when the phone is locked. This limits the usability of the app greatly during the day. I'm sure this has been addressed. Must be a good reason. Also my data is delayed 2-3 minutes from the Dexcom follow data. Sugarmate populates as quickly as Dexcom. The way data is routed to the Nightscout site must cause the delay. I can live with 2 min. delay but kind of a bummer. If the alerts were always active / able to be received by notifications (no matter what my phone's screen is doing), this would be awesome. As it is, I got to stick with the Dexcom Follow app (terrible and annoying alerts I can't adjust) and Dexcom's increasingly poor and disconnected support. Is there any chance of making this app more usable--beyond sitting on my nightstand with the screen dimmed. Or just a handy way to tap into the Nightscout website if I'm curious? We mainly use the follow app as a way to monitor our son's glucose in realtime, wherever we have Wi-Fi / cell data. He might be outside playing or in his room on the other side of the house. The bluetooth limitations (maybe 20ft.) of the receiver make it impractical to be our primary source of alerting us. So we need our phones to act like his receiver basically with the alarms. Appreciate what yall are doing with this app!
