They don’t live by the principles they pretend to defend. – The New York Times Review
I feel lied to and ripped off.
1/ To cancel your subscription, you have to chat with customer support, which is time consuming and unexpected. Not understanding the process and used to other subscription services’ practices, I thought I had canceled the subscription just by clicking on the button “cancel my subscription”. When I then got billed, I contacted them right away (36h after the billing cycle had started). They refused to issue a refund, tried to sell me a yearly subscription, and told me to refer to their refund policies. - How surprising for a newspaper that claims to defend consumers from shady policies nobody reads!
2/ In the same vibe of preaching what they don’t do, they dont even have their ESG score (sustainability assessment) published. As a public company with an editorial line supporting sustainable practices, it’s the least we could expect!
