they didn’t ‘add’ anything – Fruit Ninja® Review

After Fruit Ninja’s 10 Year Anniversary Doomsday, the culmination of years of developer greed in which they removed almost everything they’ve added since release while also turning blades and dojos into a lootbox-based gambling system, Halfbrick has slowly been adding features to rebuild the holes in the game. Well, not really adding. Since Doomsday, four blade powers have been ‘added’ (they seem to be just recycled old powers) but even if you used to own the blade, you can’t actually use their powers until you level them up or something, which requires buying a lot of lootboxes. So powers are basically gone now. They also finally ‘added’ single screen VS. mode. But it’s literally the exact same. I’m guessing the only reason they removed these modes in the first place was to try to generate hype when they added them back in. And, if I may also add some complaints about the Doomsday update, I don’t like the new graphics, the fruit shading is ugly and the fruits are way too big now, and I especially hate the new gem system. Gems are basically impossible to get without spending money, unlike golden apples where you could just watch ads and sometimes earn them by signing in. Recap: After Fruit Ninja had gone closer and closer into money-milking madness during ten years of updates, anniversary doomsday has pushed it over the brink and removed almost everything (even things you purchased in previous versions) so they could later add it again to lock it behind an expensive gambling system.
