I would pay for AD-FREE – Genius: Song Lyrics Finder Review

I totally get that devs have got mouths to feed, just like everyone else. I use Genius multiple times daily, I WANT Genius to make money so it can continue to be a fun & useful tool to supplement my listening habits. ...but not offering users a premium ad-free version ,made accessible by a one-time payment or subscription plan, is straight garbage. The format of the ads, specifically, makes it even worse. The video ads hijack my audio, so the song I’m listening to... the one & only reason I’m opening Genius for in the first place... gets paused/muted until the 30 second ad is finished. I mean, if Genius absolutely has to keep the ads (you don’t), at least make it so they don’t interrupt my music by automatically playing with the audio on. Or even if they could be skipped after “X” amount of seconds, a la YouTube, it’d be a slight improvement. But I’d honestly much prefer to pay a fee and not have to deal with the headache. Spotify sends me a monthly bill so I don’t have to listen to ads. But if I decide to look up a song from my Spotify library on Genius and am confronted with advertisements, you’ve not only ruined the user experience on Genius, but you’ve rendered my monthly Spotify Premium payments obsolete as well. It seems pretty clear to me that the only solution to mitigating my frustration with the ads would be to continue listening to Spotify Premium, but finding an alternative app to substitute for Genius. I’m telling you right now that I would pay to continue using Genius ad-free. PLEASE get this straightened out right away. I can’t promise you that I would return to Genius after deleting the app and moving on to something else.
