Mostly Unusable – ownCloud - File Sync and Share Review

I don’t want to say this app is worthless, well maybe I do. The idea behind the app is good but the execution is horrible let me explain. I have Owncloud app on my iOS devices as well as my Mac. If I make a change to a file in Owncloud on the Mac it may or my not sync depending on what MOOD Owncloud is in at the time, in fact it NEVER syncs. Uploading file from iOS devices of have the same results. If I got to my server and deplete file and clear out cached data to app still shows the files and if I try to delete them for iOS it says files locked or “unable to sync loading cached data”. There is no way to clear cached data in the app, I usually wind up deleting and reinstalling the app. Sometimes that works sometimes not. I’m sorry I paid for a years subscription even though it was only $2. If you’re considering a personal cloud use NextCloud they have none of these issues and the app is free. Next time I’ll believe the reviews.
