Lovely Idea, So Many Flaws – USAA SafePilot Review

Overall, I like the idea of this app. It is nominally convenient, and useful for discount purposes. There are a few bugs that make it difficult to use, however. The first bug has already been noted in many reviews, the harsh breaking notification for any breaking at all is ridiculous. The second bug that makes this app difficult to use, is the repeated notification asking me to turn "background app refresh" on. That function is already on in settings, and I can't change it. Every time I open the app, the app asks me to turn that setting on, and won't let me do anything at all. It is frustrating when I am in the car as a passenger, and I am not able to click the button saying I am a passenger, so I'm getting notifications and marks against me for somebody else's driving. I have tried contacting USAA and was told it must be user error. How can it be user error, when I'm already doing everything the app is asking me to do? When will this setting be fixed?
