Message requests – Messenger Review

I have an iPhone and ever since this last update i can’t get new message requests ??‍♀️I see the initial notification pop up but when I go look nothing Is there and if I don’t see a previous comment or remember their names then it’s lost ??‍♀️I have to go to their profiles and hit the message button to the request
