Message notifications – Messenger Review

Ever since the most recent update the app constantly says & shows I hav an unread message but there is NONE & it won’t clear no matter what I do & I’ve checked to see if there’s pending message requests from non friends & again .... there is NONE!!! Annoying!!! Please fix this asap!!!
