Real $$$ stolen/wasted – Snooker Stars Review

// ANOTHER UPDATE: the game has MASSIVE holes in its implementation of the rules; free balls, for example, are fundamentally flawed and not offered in the most obvious of scenarios. Is developer listening? Apparently not because compared to the effort in making the gameplay realistic, that’s a trivial afterthought—such a shame. // UPDATE: I requested my money back through Apple and all of it was refunded. I’m sure this will get the developer’s attention. As others have said, “fantastic physics”, “great gameplay”, etc.: agreed! But—and it’s a HUGE but—this game will discard YOUR money (both game $$ and real $$) as it sees fit, repeatedly and on a whim. Let me give you a few examples: 1. You’re waiting for an online match pairing and you decide to adjust your display brightness: if during that few seconds, it found a pairing, your money is taken and you lose both it and the match (this is a real USD$ or two every time). 2. Their servers or the Internet itself between you and their servers suffers a brief hiccup (2 or 3 seconds)—your fault? It doesn’t matter—the funds (your stake) are taken and the match lost (more real $$ down the drain). 3. The game freezes or crashes. Perhaps you receive a text. Your fault? Of course not—but your stake is lost along with the match (more $$ down the drain). 4. During a shot, you accidentally swipe too close to the bottom or side or top of your screen—it concludes: you left the match so “up yours” along with your stake... and the match (and your $$). 5. Try playing it on an iPhone: g’ luck—they apparently don’t test that scenario (huh!?!) because it doesn’t come remotely close to fitting the screen/notch/curved corners so game-input mistakes are inevitable and comments you’re to make during game play are illegible along with some game controls that are entirely inaccessible—don’t make a mistake mid-game, though, or your $$ are gone. ... I could go on but I wanted to make a point in the hopes the developer’s listen so I’ll leave it there. Play it for free and enjoy but DON’T spend real money.
